Template Mashup: Remember!
Hello! This is Merrilee (aka digigrandma) here to introduce you to two templates for the first Mashup Challenge this month. I think you’ll enjoy mixing and matching from these templates. The Creative Team provided me with examples to inspire you!
First, here are the templates we’ll mash.
Don’t those look like fun templates? Two different wood veneer possible titles for your mashup and a variety of photo frames and extra goodies in both templates to play around with to make your design!
Now, let’s look at how the team used the templates in making their designs.
Our wonderful Nov/Dec guest CT member, Carol (aka oldbag165), has a new camera which she used to capture these outstanding bird closeup photos. I’m just fascinated to see the birds close up like this and I think Carol masterfully combined the parts of the two Mashup templates to create this attractive page. Note the little birds she used! So perfect to go with the photos of the birds. To complete the page Carol used several new papers and embellishments from the Moonlight Garden Collection.
Julie’s (aka MaggieMae) page features photos from a cozy Christmas morning family gathering for coffee and cinnamon rolls and present opening. She grabbed the title art, Cozy, from one of the templates and it is perfect for her theme. Deer Lodge Solids Paper Pack completes her Mashup.
Valerie (aka nana_vg) never misses a chance to take part in the Mashup Challenge. She expertly combined parts of both templates for this page with photos to remember taken at a pop rock band concert last summer. Isn’t blue with brown a lovely color scheme? The polka dotted paper looks great with the outfits the girls are wearing and the Lila Bleu Solids and Striped Paper Pack finishes off her page.
Here’s Stacia’s (aka Stacia) eye catching page using the templates. Kids have the best time in the snow! These are fun days to remember and Stacia has the wonderful photos to prove it. The additions she made to the templates are Snowed in Brushes and Stamps, Watery Typecast Blends Brushes and Stamps 05, Textured Whites Paper Pack 03 and Layer Works 256 and Layer Works 258.
Last Christmas Eve gave me the chance to snap new photos of our three wonderful grandsons. They are getting very grown up, of course. The background paper is from Anchors Away Solids Paper Pack.
If you have never mashed before, this is your invitation to try it! The challenge is to combine parts of both templates to create a new design of your own. You may add any designs you wish to complete your design or just choose a background paper and stick with what is included the templates. The templates are on sale this week. Post your finished Mashup page in the Template Mashup Gallery and also in the January 2024 Participation Thread in the forum to count towards your rewards points.
