Template Mashup: Harvest the Memories

Hello everyone! It’s Merrilee (aka digigrandma)  here celebrating beautiful October with my choices for the first Template Mashup this month. The templates have so many goodies that all of the example pages were created mainly with what comes with the two templates. The rules are simple. Create an original design by using parts of both templates. It is perfectly OK to also use additional designs from your KPD stash, but, not necessary.

Harvest the Memories Layered Template

First, here is an elegant example created by Monica (aka mosbaskets). It’s amazing the originality achieved using only the parts of two templates. It made me smile when I noticed that the small black and white flairs work so well with the bow tie the groom in the photo is wearing.

Soft fall colors dominate the page Julie (aka MaggieMae) created with the templates. Julie started with a paper from Sacked Solids No. 02 for her background and then found all her design elements in the templates to create this pretty page.

Mel’s (aka Britgirl) page, filled with photos of the beautiful English countryside where she lives, is a delight to view. I love the rustic look of the wood frame she used and the cleverness of adding the arrow stamps to the frame. Mel’s background paper is from Nature Study Solids Paper Pack and the alpha for title is from the Nature Study Kit.

Next, is a beautiful page by Carol (aka oldbag165) featuring her faithful companion and agility champion dog, Carl. To see the bond they share is heartwarming! I think the clock images are perfect for her theme of time passing. She used Ombre Essentials for her background and added a few Vintage Artistry Mango Flairs to complete her adorable page.

My own example features a recent photo I took on a walk in the woods by our cabin in northern Minnesota. I had so much fun quickly creating a page by picking and choosing elements from both of the templates. I really liked the gracefulness of the green ribbon, so, I added that first after placing the photo and went from there. The green paper from ArtOptions Mini Mix No 19 was just perfect for my background.

Please join in on this challenge and discover the magic of creating with templates. I think you’ll find the experience delightful. The templates will be on sale this week. Post your pages in the Template Mashup Gallery and if you are working for a rewards coupon be sure to also post in the October Participation Thread found in the Forums at KPD.

Thank you and I will be looking for your Template Mashup creations!!
