Template Mashup: Decorate with Daisies

Hello! This is Merrilee, back with another Template Mashup Challenge. White daisies represent new beginnings and hope. They are often used for weddings and to congratulate new parents on the birth of their baby. White daisies are so versatile that there are no limits as to their use for a variety of themes as you will soon see from our example pages. The two templates I chose include lovely white daisies and much more! I think you’re going to love decorating a page with daisies for this Mashup.
Starting with two template is a great way to scrap. You can be creative in how you combine different parts of the templates to create your own unique page. It saves time because all the parts of your page are easy to find in the templates instead of hunting through your stash.
First, here are my template choices for the Challenge.
The good news is Valerie’s (aka nana_vg) family is welcoming a new baby boy! The mom and dad are looking forward to bringing him home from the ICU soon. The photos of the parents with their newborn are wonderful and daisies are the perfect accent to signify new beginnings for this family. I love the title art taken from one of the templates and the background paper from Moonlight Garden Paper Pack 01 is a lovely color for the photos and the embellishments from the templates.
Amy (aka AmyL) is also celebrating good news! As her title indicates, her good news from her recent checkup is that she remains cancer free and we rejoice with her. Her example showcases a lovely new portrait of herself. The layers surrounding and under the photo are expertly arranged for a great overall effect of happiness and hope. Again, the daisies as part of the design, symbolize that happiness and hope. All Amy needed to complete her page is a background paper from Classic Cardstocks: Festive Brights.
Lori Ann’s (aka lmaggs) clean and simple style resulted in a perfectly balanced design using parts of both templates for her mashing. Her placement of the photo as the focal point of her design makes the page a wonderful design. I love how she cleverly repeated the fancy frame to look like one large frame under the photo and the embellishments. And, again, the daisies contribute so much to the attractiveness of the page. Lori Ann often blends two different papers for her backgrounds. This time she used Arctic Whites Paper Pack 04 and Sacked Solids Paper Pack 02.
Since white daisies are often used in bridal bouquets I could not resist scrapping a photo I took at my nephews recent wedding. The phones on our cameras take pretty good photos I think! The outdoor venue for this wedding was a delightful setting. I absolutely loved using the templates to create this page. I blended two papers from Sacked Solids No 02 for my background.
And in case you need proof of how versatile decorating with daisies can be, Stacia’s (aka Stacia) example has a winter theme and it totally works! Beautiful winter scenes are showcased with the neutral colors of the embellishments in the two templates for great results. Her background paper is from Curated Favorites paper Pack 08.
Thank you for viewing our examples. I hope you are inspired to jump right in and start mashing! The template sale on Wednesday this week is a perfect time to grab the two templates for your digital stash. You will use the different parts over and over I’m sure.
Please post your pages in our Gallery and also in the March Participation Thread so it counts towards Reward points.
Here’s to happy scrapping days in March!
