Template Mashup: A Wonderful Time of Year
It’s December and the holiday season is in full swing at Katie Pertiet Designs. This is Merr (aka digigrandma) here with two templates with a festive, holiday theme for this Mashup Challenge. I’m excited to introduce them to you and also to show you the fabulous examples the Creative Team members and Guest CT members created.
First, the templates for the challenge:
If this challenge is new to you, here are the simple rules: create your own original design using parts of both templates. You simply choose the parts you want to use. You can go fancy or simple because there are so many fantastic design elements in these templates from a string of Christmas lights to golden bells plus layers of ephemera and interesting titles.
For the first Mashing example, Kathy (aka blackkathy) showcases an elegant table top decoration. I love how she incorporated the lights behind the photo stack and added the little brush tree, the golden bells, the lantern and the prancing deer with antlers. It’s all quite magical. Evergreen Season Solids Paper Pack completes her design.
Speaking of magical, Candy (aka cnewby) showcases a photo of a peaceful winter scene in the woods on her page. I love that she used the This is my wish word art for her title. This message of peace is so perfect for this special time of year. Her finishing paper is from Lost Lace Paper Pack 01.
And Kimberly’s (aka Kimberlyb) page also looks magical with the beautiful darker blue background and the Christmas lights and the fun photos from their family Christmas Eve festivities. Papers used are from Away We Go Solids Paper Pack and Jingle Solids Paper Pack. Additional elements are from Anchors Away Element Pack.
And, of course, Stacia is a regular at mashing examples for this challenge. She never disappoints. Like Candy’s page her version celebrates the winter season. I absolutely love that little brush tree placed at the bottom of the page along with the ornaments and the lantern. Spring Bouquet Paper Pack completes the background.
Valerie (aka nana_vg) found older photos of herself with her granddaughters and the expressions captured on their faces are hilarious. I love the added title art from Christmas Time Sentiments 01 and the golden hanging bells plus all the greenery on her well balanced design. The whimsical added word art is from Christmas Time Sentiments 01. The background paper is from White on White Paper Pack 02.
