Something Old, Something New

Hi friends, it’s Trace (tracermajig) back with you for another Something Old, Something New challenge!

For the month of February I thought it would be great to go with a love theme. Katie has so many product options in that regard that I had trouble choosing! In the end this is what I decided on:

The old:

And the new:

Like always, the aim of the game is to use an old and new product on your page. You can use anything at all from these elements packs if you have them in your stash or you can use what’s in the freebie pack that Katie has provided. I can’t wait to see where the inspiration takes you!

Let’s see what the team created!

I love how Stacia (Stacia) took the love theme in a different direction from romance or Valentine’s Day. Could there be a more perfect title for this adorable picture? I also love how she used the washi cluster to tape down the frames.

These are the products that Stacia used on her page: All Bent Up: Hearts 01, Classic Frame Layers 01, Color Study: Red Paper Pack, Connected Sentiments 04, Crowning Affair: Vibrant Element Pack, December Journal Labels 02, Layer Works 247, School Rules Solids Paper Pack, Textured Whites Paper Pack 03Washi Tapes: Lovely Clusters 01

I adore Valerie’s (nana_vg)  large blended photo. The cluster of smaller photos and the elements all work beautifully together to help tell the story of her grandson proposing. The connected sentiments title is just perfect!

Valerie used the products on her page: All Bent Up: Hearts 01, ARToptions Rouge Ephemera, ARToptions Whitewashed Paper Pack 01, Classic Curled Photo Frames 07, Connected Sentiments 04, Layer Works 2163, Washi Tapes: Lovely Clusters, Worth Repeating Stamp Pack 45

How sweet is this card that Jan’s (jmgesi) husband made her? I love how she scrapped this using Katie’s new Tabbed Journals 03. All of her elements just work together so beautifully!

This is what Jan used to create her page: All Bent Up Hearts 01, Drawn in Love Stamps 01, Hey There Paper Pack, Layer Works 2287, My Vintage Valentines Printable Paper Pack 01, Tabbed Journals 03, Vintage Printable Paper Pack 02, Washi Tape Lovely Clusters

For my page, I wanted to scrap a photo of my kids when they were just babies. My favourite feature of the All Bent Up: Hearts 01 is that you can clip a paper to them and make any pattern you like. You can also leave off the texture layer if you don’t want them ‘bent up’. I also clipped the Washi Tape: Lovely Clusters 01 to the hearts. You could do this as well with any kind of brush or even stitching elements.
