Scraplift: Angles for Energy

When Deborah (Deborah Wagner) posted her “Happy Heart” page in the gallery, she commented that she wasn’t sure about the tilt and the black and white stripes. I had to chuckle because those were exactly the elements that drew me to her page. I love the boldness of her color choices and the energy that the angle imparts to her design. So it was a natural choice for today’s Saturday Scraplift, and two of my fellow Creative Team members, Audrey and Terri,  joined me in taking inspiration from her page; here’s where we went with it.

Deborah’s page:

For her delightful lift, Audrey (adrianita) chose softer colors to support the photos of her daughter happily splashing in a rain puddle. There are so many things to love about Audrey’s page: the tight cluster of photos that tell the story, the awesome title work, and the visual triangle of elements that draws the viewer’s eye through her design.

Terri (GoingtotheSun) included two angled bands in one of my favorite color combinations: pink and green – also the colors in a cute photo of her daughters at their own personalized end-of-school field day. I adore the mix of patterned papers and the way her angled journaling reinforces her page design.

My page is a fairly straightforward lift of Deborah’s. My photos were monochromatic, but I wanted to introduce some color into my design. What better way to do that than with patterned paper, in this case a plaid – can’t go wrong with plaid. That tilted band also provided a perfect home for my title.

I know you’re going to have fun lifting this page by Deborah because there are so many interesting possibilities. Remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge gallery and in the July Challenges Sign In thread. Happy scrapping!
