Saturday Scraplift: Shapes+Words

As a scrapbooker, I have a love for shapes; and as a former English teacher, I also have a love for words. Put those two elements together, and you have a recipe for great design. Jane (Jane_Bond7) did exactly that in a page that immediately caught my eye in the gallery. I loved how the offset negative heart image was surrounded by appropriate word art and framed that great shot of her and her husband. The turquoise elements really pop against the black and white. My fellow Creative Team members couldn’t wait to try their hands at lifting Jane’s cool page. Get ready to be inspired.

Jane’s page:

Addie (agoymerac) used a sweet photo of her and her husband and cut a heart from her top paper, creating a home for her picture as well as for layers of torn edges underneath. I really like the coordination of her colors and the repetition of the heart shape.

Lynn’s (grandma lynnie) page is the definition of fun. Her choice of the bandana background paper to match Dick’s Willie Nelson homage is pure genius. The word art selections support and extend her theme, and I love her red elements.

Erin (Ernie88), like Addie, cut out a heart and tucked two darling shots of her boys into it. She reinforced the shape with the stitching, the red bow, and the spot on word art. That top photo just makes my heart melt.

Liz (lizziet5) chose a star shape to highlight a cute shot of her daughter and son-in-law who will soon be welcoming a little boy. Liz used shades of pale blue and added great punch to her page with the black ribbon and word strips.
