Saturday Scraplift: Rule of Thirds
Happy Saturday, it’s that time of the week where we lift a page from the gallery. This week, I’ve chosen one of Jana’s pages. There’s a lot to love but I was drawn especially to how she split the page up both horizontally and vertically into thirds. We all know that groups of three in decorating are the way to go but it’s also true on our layouts that thirds are visually appealing. And Jana’s background is a great example but so too is her white photo frame and white flowers on top of the red background which gives a vertical third.
Here’s where this inspiration led the design team. Up first is Valerie (nana_vg) with a darling prom proposal page. And can we just take a moment to give props to this guy for his cute proposal? 🙂 Love the torn paper for the center third as well as all the fun edge elements.

Up next is Rachael (myssp) who played up the thirds with her tic tac toe design. This photo is too precious and all the pink and orange embellishments make for a very cheery layout.

Rache (rache77) used a soft blended background much like Jana for her silly selfie with her daughter. Love the folded over photo corner with the clip, such a fun detail.

And finally, here’s my (Wendy) page. I used a similar stamp for my middle background but filled it with the photo at a lesser opacity. My daughter goes on amazing hikes in Oregon.
