Saturday Scraplift: Hearts on Display

Hi, Linda here and happy almost Valentine’s Day! In keeping with the season, we’re lifting a sweet page by Sarah (sterkeurs) that will, no doubt, have us all feeling the love. I adore her cool use of the word art and the large heart that provides great white space, calling attention to the photo of her and her Valentine. It’s the perfect ode to love! Several of my fellow Creative Team members joined me in taking inspiration from Sarah’s page. Here’s where it took us.

Sarah’s page:

Valerie (nana_vg) chose a classic red and white color scheme to scrap a darling photo of her granddaughter imitating her daddy. I love her brilliant use of the X’s and O’s in red and gray which also appear in her title, and her layering is just perfect.

Addie (agoymerac) went big with her heart shape to focus on a great macro shot of a butterfly pollinating a flower. Her photo led her to one of my favorite color schemes – pink and green – which works especially well with spring shots. Are we ready for spring?

Two of Erin’s (Ernie88) adorable children make an appearance on her striking page. The offset heart filled with girl word art perfectly complements her journaling about their relationship at this moment. And I love that visual triangle of blendable palettes.

I couldn’t resist using Katie’s wonderful new ARToptions Mini Mix 25 for my page because it just screamed Valentine’s Day to me, AND it’s pink and green! I converted a photo of my son’s family to black and white to eliminate some clashing colors, and all was good.

Remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the February Challenges Sign-in thread in the forum. Happy Valentine’s Day and happy scrapping!
