Saturday Scraplift: Going Linear

I love a clean-looking page which is probably what drew me to the page Connie (connieg) did for the last 30MM. The design is a simple column of paper strips, photos, and a title – absolute genius! Add a trio of leaf brushes, and voila, you have a finished page, including lovely white space to rest the eye. Carol and Julie, two of my Creative Team sisters, joined me in lifting Connie’s terrific page. Here’s how we were inspired.

Connie’s page:

Carol (carollee) rotated Connie’s design to accommodate her photos of the always adorable Lucky. Isn’t he cute in his stroller – now that’s my kind of walking! I love the color palette Carol chose and her mix of patterned and solid papers. Her subtle brush work grounds the design, and she still had plenty of room for her signature journaling. Give yourself and Lucky a treat, Carol!

Julie (MaggieMae) adhered closely to Connie’s design and used blues and greens to underscore the subject of her beautiful coastal shots. I like those stitched word strips, and the camera charm is perfect. Another great touch is the textured white background paper. All in all, this is such a restful page – Calgon, take me there!

I scrapped a photo of my older son and grandchildren from Father’s Day a couple of years ago, and his shirt was almost a perfect match for the blue in Katie’s gorgeous new Color Swatch Inkwell Kit, so it was a marriage made in heaven. My page is not quite as clean as Connie’s is, but I couldn’t stop myself from tucking in fun bits and pieces everywhere.
