Saturday Scraplift: Getting Edgy with It

Linda here with a fun page for you to lift. I could seriously put every page Trace (tracermajig) does in my favorites folder – she’s just so darn creative. This recent page about her son’s 11th birthday is inspiring for so many reasons: great design, just the right colors for a boy page, and goodies galore. I loved the off-the-edge placement of the cutting file and the clever way she arranged her journaling against the opposite edge. Julie and Amy, two of my fellow Creative Team sisters, joined me in lifting Trace’s page. Here’s where it took us.

Trace’s page:

Julie (MaggieMae) adapted Trace’s page to scrap a great photo of her and a friend, and they were wearing the perfect (IMHO) combination of spring colors – pink and green – which she used for her design. I love the brushwork beneath the cutting file and that cute cluster of tags. Katie’s beautiful new ARToptions kit seemed made for her page.

Amy (Amy L) also used Katie’s new kit, and again, it’s perfect for her page about the gardening she’s doing at her beautiful home. She chose exactly the right cutting file as a background for her photo, and adapted Trace’s journaling idea for the names of her plants. As someone with a black thumb, I admire Amy’s gardening skills – fancy a visit to Florida, Amy?

I love Katie’s cutting files, and I love filling those spaces with pretty paper, so I indulged myself with every shade from pale pink to deep red to scrap this photo of my beautiful granddaughter all decked out for her senior prom last year. Instead of the journaling on the side, I decided to expand the heart theme with a variety of Katie’s cutout hearts.

I find it a bit ironic that Trace’s cool guy page inspired three pretty girly pages – lol! What is it inspiring you to scrap? I can’t wait to see! Remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the April Rewards Participation thread in the forum to qualify for your discount. Happy scrapping, my friends!
