Saturday Scraplift: Front and Center

Sometimes photos just need to be put front and center, and that’s exactly what Carol (carollee) did with these wonderful Father’s Day photos of her husband Mike, Tabitha, and those cute grandsons. I also love those patterned paper and stitched stars she used to create a cool background. There’s a lot to love on this page! Several of my Creative Team sisters joined me in lifting Carol’s page. Here’s where it took us.

Carol’s page:

I love Shannon’s (shannonroller) full-on patriotic take on Carol’s page. She managed to include five photos and significant journaling on a page that’s well balanced and pleasing to the eye – never a small feat! You just can’t beat that red, white, and blue combo — well done, Shannon!

Julie (MaggieMae) rotated Carol’s design to accommodate this glorious panoramic view of island life. Calgon, take me away! The tropical green stickers are the perfect complement to the beautiful blues of the sky and sea, and I love that bit in her journaling about wanting to “collect islands.”

Monica’s (mosbaskets) photos celebrate her son’s milestone 21st birthday at a local winery with friends. She tweaked Carol’s layout by angling her pictures across the center of the page. I really like how that decision created the perfect spaces for word art and journaling.

I scrapped some shots of my mother who was having a good time while we waited to get her hair done. I wanted to play with all this week’s new goodies, so I converted my photos to black and white and took off. Carol’s stitched background was my inspiration for the squares that replicate the design on my mother’s sweatshirt.

I know you’re going to have fun lifting Carol’s terrific page – it contains so much inspiration. Remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the September Challenge Participation Sign-in thread. Happy scrapping!
