Saturday Scraplift: Focus on What is Important

Shannon (shannonr) here with this week’s edition of Saturday Scraplift.  This week we will be lifting Beth (bred1269).  Loved that she spanned one photo across the page with a mask but framed her grandson as the important piece of the story.  The tilted layers of paper, the titlework and the cluster of elements worked fabulously together.

As usual, the Creative Team has put together some additional inspiration to help you get started with your lift.

First up, Valerie (nana_vg) with this layout of a past military assignment revisited.  Valerie’s interpretation of the lift was to take a photo from the same spot in opposite directions–the home and the gazebo in front of it.  I was also in the Army and remember these majestic homes that the higher ranking officers lived in.

Next up is one of our Guest Creative Team members, Angela (amcmillian).  She followed Beth’s lead on tilting the layered paper, blending a photo across the page and framing her walking companion.  Love the pretty spring paper peeking out as well.

Penny (pennyh), our other Guest Creative Team member, created this beautiful page featuring cherry blossoms.  Her layout focuses on the difference a few days can make with her smaller photo showing snow on the cherry blossoms and the larger photo of them basking in the sunshine.  I love that she used remnants in her stacking to give her layout some texture.

I followed Beth’s design fairly closely.  This is an older photo but one of my favorites of my son.
