Saturday Scraplift: Check Out This Design

Of course, what first drew me to Lynn’s (grandma lynnie) page was adorable Rosie Rae all decked out in checks. Then I saw that coordinating checked title. Then I saw the spill frame and the twisted hearts. It was a win, win, win! And Liz T, Candy, and Rae from our Creative Team were eager to join me in lifting this fabulous design. Here’s how we were inspired.
Lynn’s page:
Liz (lizziet5) gives some great advice to her beautiful teenaged granddaughter on her lovely page. I really like how the foliage in Liz’s signature muted tones cascades down the page and draws the viewer’s eye straight to the photo of her pretty granddaughter. And the trio of soft coral pops pairs perfectly with the color scheme to unite her design.

Candy’s (cnewby) page is pure Halloween fun. The effect of her granddaughter and all that candy bursting from the spill frame is perfection, and she did a terrific job of supporting her theme with the spider web brush and the black cat epoxy. The background brushes in the corners remind me of a l-o-n-g cat’s tail!

Rae’s (bcgal00) page is truly an ode to fall with its rich autumn colors – even the towhee appears to have received the memo! Rae chose a beautiful background paper, but my favorite aspect of her page is the way she framed that great photo with the brushwork and foliage stickers. Then she added a whimsical title – just the right amount of quirkiness, which I love.

I scrapped a photo from my grandson’s birthday in May. It gave me a chance to use Katie’s cool new goody-filled kit, even though a boy pulling money out of a Yeti bottle has nothing to do with farm life. I do love that smile on his face, though. I leaned into the checks for the background paper as well as the title, and I was inspired by Lynn’s page to choose a spill frame for the photo.

As you can see from the examples, Lynn’s page inspired us all in different directions – that’s the beautiful of an inspiration piece. I’m eager to see where it takes you! Remember to post your page in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery and in the November Challlenges Sign-in thread in the forum. Happy scrapping, and Happy Thanksgiving!
