Saturday Scraplift: Captured on Film

Happy June! Shannon (shannonr) here with the first Saturday Scraplift for the month. This week, we will be lifting Karen (kaclink). I absolutely love the blended photo and color scheme she chose to highlight it. She created such a beautiful background with the filmstrip and brushwork. She also added the perfect elements to ground the photo.
As usual, the Creative Team has come up with some additional inspiration to help you get your creative juices flowing.
First up–Valerie (nana_vg). I love that she chose to scrapbook photos of her lilacs for her lift. She followed Karen’s filmstrip and blended photo design but added some additional supporting photos.
Products used: Spill Frame Layers 22, All Around 4×6 Borders Brushes and Stamps 07, ARToptions Plum Grove Transfers 01, Color Swatch Lavender Ephemera, Color Swatch Lavender Paper Pack, Color Swatch Willow Transfers 01, Thin Classic Photo Frames Curled and Flat 01, and Twisted Dots 01.
Guest Creative Team member, Renee (5grand), decided to focus in on some delicious looking cookies. She turned the filmstrip design on its side and repeated the filmstrip images into her title work and background. I wouldn’t be able to stop at one cookie either!
Products used: Filmed Photo Masks 10, Curated Team Favorites Photography Kit, and Curated Team Favorites Artsy Kit.
I recently went to a peony farm. Unfortunately, the fields themselves were not in bloom but the demonstration garden was. One of my peony photos was so similar to Karen’s magnolia photo that it was what started my inspiration. I used the filmstrip to ground my photo and then a frame cluster to frame it. I admired Karen’s use of white space but I have a hard time with it so I used a blended photo in the white space.
Products used: Vintage Artistry Tranquility Scrapbooking Bundle, Vintage Artistry Tranquility Transfers 04, Readymade Layers: Frame Clusters 04, Stamped Blocks 43, and Color Swatch Eucalyptus Filmstrips and Frames
In order to get credit toward a coupon to use in the KPD Store, be sure to post your lifts in the Saturday Scraplift Gallery and the June Challenge Participation Thread.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with for this lift!
