Saturday Scraplift: All in the Details

Whenever I see a soft-toned page in the gallery, more often than not, it belongs to Liz (lizziet5). She is the queen of muted colors, and she is expert at adding the details that pull me right in to her pages. Every time I look at this sweet page featuring photos of her adorable grandson, I see something new: the subtle brush work behind the photos, the realistic shadowing, the tickets peeking out, the ribbon running through the design, and on and on. There’s a wealth of inspiration here. Two of my fellow Creative Team members joined me in lifting Liz’s page, and here’s where it took us.

Liz’s page:

Jana (jana) scrapped some cute pictures of her daughter and granddog. I love the primarily black and white page with just a pop of bright blue in her photo and elements, and polka dots are always a good choice. It warms my heart to see the visual triangle she created with epoxies, a button, and a circular brush.

Jheri (Jheri) designed her page around photos of a little cutie I’m guessing is her grandson, playing in a sandbox. What little boy could resist that?? Her gorgeous, colored background really makes her pictures stand out, and I love the way she grounded her photos with brush work, word art, and that cool black thread.

It was the day to scrap family photos, it seems. I used some pictures from my birthday dinner a couple of years ago and converted them to black and white to complement my mostly monochromatic color scheme. I adhered pretty closely to Liz’s design – why mess with perfection?

I know you’re going to enjoy lifting Liz’s beautiful page, and I’m eager to see what you create. Remember to post your lift in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the May Challenge Participation Sign-in thread. Happy scrapping!
