January Color Challenge: Cool and fresh

Hi, Chrissy here, welcome to the first color challenge of 2024. Now the festivities of Christmas are over, it’s always satisfying to enjoy the space we reclaim when the decorations go back in the attic. When choosing a photo for this I wanted some clean, fresh inspiration, and this icy view has that. I would love to go exploring in the village, as long as there was a hot chocolate ready for after!

The creative team were happy to create pages using the palette, and I love how they turned out.

First up is Sharon (Shannamay). She’s created this lovely page about her daughter. I love the soft effect she’s created with the brushwork, flowers and lace.

Sharon used Curated Favorites Paper Pack 09 In Blue; Vintage Artistry Wedgewood Ephemera; Thin Classic Frames 02Berks Lane Element Pack; Walden Element Pack; Bound Blends 03; Chunky Stamped Alphabet 01; Vintage Mini Mix 15; ARToptions Plum Grove Ephemera .

Next is Carol (Carolee). I love how she’s showcased the dramatic painting by her husband, also paying tribute to a close friend. It’s such a fun idea to use the metal grid to fix the elements in place, and the handdrawn look to the outside edge is perfect.

Carol used Vintage Artistry Wedgewood Solids Paper Pack; ARToptions Plum Grove Ephemera; ARToptions Plum Grove Ephemera Plus Pack; Frame Me 03C; Blendable Layers Scratchy Borders 01; Wire Frame Grid Panels 01; Vintage Journal Spots 04; Painted Photo Masks Brushes and Stamps 06; Splatters Brushes and Stamps 03; Pinned Pearls 02.

Now it’s over to you, what will you scrap using this as a starting point? Katie has generously provided a color challenge freebie for this challenge. Please share your pages in the Color Challenge gallery so we can leave some love.

Remember you can take part in the Rewards program here at Katie Pertiet Designs by creating challenge pages with 100 % KPD supplies. Keep track of your challenge pages in the January rewards participation thread to earn a store discount.
