Graphic Challenge June 2025: It’s Iconic!

Hi everyone! Amy L here welcoming you to the Graphic Challenge, where we use a graphic as inspiration for a scrapbook page. Here’s this month’s inspiration:

Our challenge this month is to use a symbol on your page: a mark or object that stands for something else. A search of “symbol” in the Katie Pertiet Designs store brings up lots of great ideas! I especially love Katie’s icons that come in flairs, banners, geotags, strips and much more. You may choose to make your overall page theme symbolic or just use one small item that represents something to you. Some examples: a sun to stand for summer, a heart to stand for love, a cup for your beloved coffee break.

Our Creative Team members have made some outstanding pages to give you some ideas!

First up is Kathy (Blackkathy) who created this eyecatching layout celebrating a new baby! Doesn’t that background draw you in and lead your eye right to the precious photo? Kathy used lots of fun symbols on her page: all the baby papers and elements, the hearts, and that ampersand peeking out in the title. The ampersand is one of my favorite symbols to use in scrapbooking.

Supplies Kathy used: Littlest Baby KitSymbology Wood Tiles (modified), Love Grows #5, Messy Stitched Circles White 1, Geomarker Frame LayersPocket Cards 3×4 Burst Templates, Paper Alpha 1.

Next up is Monica (mosbaskets) with a page highlighting a truly special meal. What fabulous photos; the food looks absolutely mouthwatering! You must read Monica’s journaling for the details. The Cully Chip Sticker icons look great on the page.

Supplies Monica used: White on White Papers #2, In Line Words SummerVintage Blendable Palettes #11, Vintage Mini Mix #2, Fresh Vintage Albia, Doily Edgers #3, Cully Chip Stickers.

Finally, I made a page about a recent trip to the beach. My husband has had some recent health struggles, and this was our first trip in some time. I used the car flair to illustrate the road trip theme (and the fact that I drove which was new for us), and the ampersand to highlight that we accomplished this together.

Supplies I used: Bradded Photo Frames 03, Inked Twists 02, Stamp Sets 02 Adventure, Striping Graphic 01, Tidewater Scrapbooking Kit, Touring Flairs, Vintage Blendable Layers 13.

Katie has provided a freebie here. You are welcome to use any or all of the included items, but use of the freebie is totally optional. I hope this month’s graphic and the team pages will inspire you to take part in this challenge!  Please post your pages in the Graphic Challenge Gallery as well as the June Challenge Participation Thread. Enjoy your scrapping!
