Creative Team Spotlight Scraplift: Jana Holden

Jana is off enjoying the wonders of Sicily, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to shine the spotlight on her for our fifth-Saturday Creative Team Scraplift. Jana’s gallery is an absolute delight for the eyes, containing so many beautiful pages filled with family memories, travel destinations, and stunning flowers. Stacia, Barbara, and Addie joined me in seeking inspiration from Jana’s lovely pages. Here’s how she inspired us.

Stacia (Stacia) lifted the design AND the subject matter of Jana’s page about a lighthouse in the Chicago Harbor. To accommodate her portrait-oriented photo, Stacia rotated the design just a bit. The stacked mats and nautical elements extend her theme but still leave plenty of room for her to tell the story of her visit.

Barbara (grantlaurensmom) was also inspired by the focus of one of Jana’s pages about her daughter and son-in-law’s trip to Paris. Barbara scrapped multiple pictures of her husband’s work trip to the City of Lights. I love the large, blended photos on both pages along with the smaller photos to flesh out the story.

Addie (agoymerac) chose a page of Jana’s that focuses on a pretty teacup from a special afternoon tea. Addie’s subject is her spectacular succulents, and she used a page blend to extend the floral theme just as Jana did. I really like the elements tucked in and around the photo on both pages.

I was drawn to the design of Jana’s page about the butterflies she saw at the Chicago Botanic Garden. I increased the number of frames to seven to allow for journaling about what’s making me happy right now. I used a colorful overlay with some splatters to mimic Jana’s artsy style.

There is no end to the inspiration you’ll find in Jana’s gallery. I know you’re going to love browsing through it, and I can’t wait to see which page you decide to lift. Remember to post your page in the Creative Team Spotlight Scraplift Gallery and if you’re a speedy scrapper in the September Challenges Participation sign-in thread in the forum. Happy scrapping!
