Color Challenge: Fresh ideas ahead

Hi everyone, it’s Chrissy (kikimama), welcome to the first Color Challenge of the year. I wanted to go for a fresh palette as we say goodbye to 2025 and look forward to the next twelve months of possibility. I always love that first glimpse of snowdrops through the ground (snow optional) as they signal the beginning of the return of light and greenness to the countryside.

I can see this palette being used for outdoor pages, or perhaps sports related pages. I can also see it accompanied with gold touches for celebrations for the New Year or festive occasions. The picture is by Yoksel 🌿 Zok on Unsplash. I asked the creative team to contribute pages and I’m so pleased with them.

First up is Shannon with this lovely page. What a gorgeous picture, I want to ride along and see where the route goes. Her use of elements and background paper extends the snowy feel to the whole page. Just lovely!

Shannon used Curated Studio Mix 46; Evergreen Season Paper Pack 02; Rustique Noel Remnants 01; Rustique Noel Element Pack; Vintage Winter Woods Sentiment Stamps; Instant Artsy Snowflakes Stamp Pack 01; Flaked Edges Brushes and Stamps 02.

Next up is Stacia with this great page. I love the depth of the layers and the looping swirl linking the title to the photo, the textured background adds further depth. I also want to visit Seattle now to see the statue. It’s one of the great joys of scrapbooking, seeing snippets of life from across the globe.

Stacia used Bradded Photo Frames 03; Layer Works 2123; Stamp Sets: Vol. 02 Happy; Fine Line Twists Brushes and Stamps 03; Text Textures Paper Pack 05; ARToptions Mini Mix 34.

Next up is Addie with this darling page. I love this look back/ forward to summer and that cute rockery with the succulents. The leather flowerettes are one of my favourite products in the store, they always add a cute touch, and here the little flower acts to pin down the foliage around the photo. The leaf brushes add further dimension to the page.

Addie used Touch Up Painted Stamp Pack 09; Toned Paint Masks 01; Big Bottom Lift Classic Frames 03; ARToptions Mini Mix 26; Summer Porch Ephemera; Summer Porch Botanical Transfers 02; Vintage Artistry Countryside Florals;

Now it’s your turn. Let’s see how this palette and the New Year inspire you. Katie has generously provided a freebie pack to get you started. Post your pages in the Color Challenge gallery so we can leave some love. Don’t forget to keep track of your progress with the challenges in the January Challenge Participation Thread. If you use exclusively Katie Pertiet Designs products this could give you a store discount at the end of the month.

Happy Scrapping!
