Color Challenge – Beach time! | Katie Pertiet Designs

Hi everyone, welcome to July’s Color Challenge. It’s vacation time here, time to relax and take the time to enjoy nature, whether that’s on the beach, in a park or forest or by a lake. Even in cities there are green spaces to rest and breathe. Here in Scotland the weather’s taking its time in getting warm and sunny, so to help it along I chose this gorgeous photo as inspiration. I just know there will be plenty of beach photos that would work with this color palette. It could also work for nature pages and many other situations.

The creative team have created lovely pages from this color palette.

First up is Erin (ErinR), with this sweet page. The colors are perfect for this photo and what a moment to capture. I love her use of blending, from the photo to the frames, along with the framing of the stitching and the simple elements used skilfully.

Next is Shannon (shannonr) with this fun page showcasing the fabulous decorations at her local church’s vacation bible school. So much work must have gone into them. I love her whimsical choice of elements, all creating a real flavour of the sea.

Last but certainly not least is this wonderful page by Rachael (myssp). The layering is so rich, and I love the background to the page adding interest. The photo is so sweet and the colours from it have been used so well in the choice of elements. I particularly love the touches of lace adding extra texture.
