Celebrating Father’s Day

Welcome to Challenge of the Month – June. Brenda here, taking this opportunity to honor our Fathers, Grandfathers, Father-in-Laws, Step-dads, Big Brother mentors, Father Figures, and the list goes on. I would especially like to include those single mothers that have taken on both the father and the mother’s roll in the family. I include myself in that category. In fact, one of my sons took it upon himself to recognize me on Father’s Day, as well as Mother’s Day for several years. *Best feeling in the world.*
I’m happy to include this freebie pack that Katie has generously provided to help get you off to a good start: FREEBIE
I’d like to share some example pages our Creative Team came up with for your inspiration. First up is a scrapbook page from Lizziet5, or as we call her, Liz. It is as beautiful as it is heartfelt, and her journaling never fails to leave me with a silent sigh, and nod. (Through life experiences, we are kindred spirits.)
Aside from the freebie pack, Liz has used the following products for her page: Clipped Stack Layers 16, Defined Simplicity Stamp Pack 02, Hidden Creek Ephemera, Indigo Garden Element Pack, Kotka Element Pack, Kotka Solids Paper Pack, and Painted Quatrefoils Stamp Pack 04.
Next up is this page from nana_vg, better known to us as Valerie. Her design is as soft as it is beautiful. It has a definite vintage, heritage vibe, thanks to a wonderfully preserved family photo and a super nice postcard frame. Her detailed journaling is a family treasure that will live on for generations to come. (I hope you can tell how much I appreciate these heritage pages.)
Page credits include the freebie pack, and: Field Guide Watercolor Clusters and Layers 01, Page Fades Clipping Masks 01, Mixed Woods Paper Pack 01, and Dreamy Paper Pack 03.
Our next example comes from 5grand, aka Renee.
Renee’s page is another wonderful example of a vintage heritage page, designed with beautiful layers and an old black and white father & sons photo.
Renee has made good use of the freebie pack, along with the essential Curated Team Favs Photography Kit.
Lastly, this is a Father’s Day tribute page to my son, on behalf of his sweet daughter. I started scrapbooking for her very early on, but when she lost her Papa 2 years ago it became more important than ever to preserve those memories.
I love that each of us has chosen this Heartstrings page title included in the freebie pack. For more family titles like this, check out the entire package: Family is Everything Brushes and Stamps 01. Additionally, I used Hand Drawn Magic Stamps 01.
I hope you join us in celebrating Father’s Day! Please remember to post your layout in the Challenge of the Month category and also in the June Challenges area in the forum for your credit to the shop.
Happy Scrapping! – Brenda
