Butterflies and Sunshine: Template Mashup

Hello from Merrilee (aka digigrandma)! Are you ready for a new Mashup? I hope you have discovered how fun and easy it is to start with two templates and combine the parts to create a new layout. If not, I invite you to give it a try!

Here are the details for this challenge:

  1. The chosen templates are included in the Thrifty Thursday sale.
  2. Your new creation should include parts of both the featured templates. You may also use parts of other kits from Katie Pertiet Designs to complete your layout if you wish.
  3. Post your layout in the Template Challenge Gallery and if you are working towards the Rewards Discount also post in the March Participation Thread found in the Forum.

The templates to Mash:

Sunsational Layered Template

Layer Works 1354

To see just how versatile these templates are for mashing, here are examples from the Creative Team.

Guest Creative Team member, Valerie (aka nana_vg),  loves this challenge and she is so good at mashing! Lovely colors and adorable photos are a delight to the eye. Her background paper is Cabana Whites Paper Pack and she added a photo frame from Vintage Photo Frames No 33.

Amy (aka Amy L) has an adorable granddaughter who is already learning about shapes. Her page showcases several photos and the colors are soft and pretty. She added a paper from Vintage Coral Paper Pack and elements and brushes from ArstySpots Brushes, Stamps and Layers, Cutout Circles, Emelia Element Pack, and Love Letters Element Pack.

Guest Creative Team Member, Cori (aka CoriK), made use of the wonderful title in one of the templates for a stunning page all about being on vacation in the sun! Makes me want to fly somewhere warm!

Julie (aka MaggieMae) also liked the Sunsational title art. Her interesting photos take us to Acapulco for more sunny vacation memories. Her background paper is from Lightly Linens Paper Pack 02.

For my own page, I really liked the happy butterflies in both of the templates. My background paper is from Vintage Artistry Collector Solids. I tried to make the page look like a vintage collage only with a modern day photo.

Thanks for taking a look at the inspiration layouts. I’ll be looking for more mashups in the gallery in the days to come!
