Ad Challenge October 2024: Large and Small

Hi everyone! It’s Amy (Amy L) bringing you the Ad Challenge for October. I’ve been intrigued by the design of travel posters lately and found this one to use as inspiration:
This poster uses a design common to this type of advertising: a large background photo with overlaid smaller ones. I like the placement of the title at the top with the large photo subject at the bottom. Instead of a large photo, you could use a pretty paper or element series as your lower focal point. Or flip the whole design! You know how it works: it’s totally up to you! The Creative Team took on this challenge and made some wonderful pages to inspire you. In addition, Katie has provided a freebie for this challenge here.
First up, Lori Ann has created a brilliant page for us! She used the design to perfection, the brilliant extraction drawing your attention while leaving room for your eye to rest and move around the page. Look at that fabulous shadow! The adventurous theme couldn’t be better; I wish I could try this!
Supplies Lori Ann used: Freebies: Classic Curled Photo Frames 07, Hand Drawn Twists 02. Other supplies: All Around 4×6 Borders Brushes and Stamps 07, Almost There Element Pack, Cloudscape Brushes and Stamps 02, Maybe Not Solids Paper Pack, Ombre Essentials Paper Pack 02.
Next, Addie created a page with a gorgeous lake scene and happy fishing photos to accent it. Her fish stories are such fun! I love the black stitching and the perfect outdoorsy accents. Isn’t that title work great?
Supplies Addie used: Freebie: Hand Drawn Twists 02. Other supplies: Hand Scripted Stamp Pack 39, Stitched Frame Clusters and Layers 04, Lakeside Element Pack, Lakeside Sticker Sheet 01, Lakeside Sticker Sheet 02, I Do Solids Paper Pack.
I (Amy L) liked the design of the ad for using multiple photos and settled on some from a recent gathering with the grandkids. My son went upstairs and hauled down toy bins and the kids (and adults) had a blast! I really enjoyed choosing a main photo and tucking accent photos around it.
Supplies I used: Freebies: Classic Curled Photo Frames 07, Graphic Simplicity 01, and Hand Drawn Twists 02. Other supplies: ARToptions Mini Mix 28, Classic Cardstocks: Festive Brights, Color Swatch Combo Ocean Breeze Transfers, Color Swatch Peach Ephemera, Fall Garden Add-On Paper Pack, Multimedia Botanical Layers 01, Poppy Fields Element Pack, School Mates Frame Wraps, Spectrum Gardenia Chipboard Words, Spectrum Gardenia Ephemera, Vintage Botanist Stamps 01, Vintage Botanist Stamps 02, and Vintage Garden 01 Element Pack.
I hope you find something in this piece to inspire you, and I’ll be eagerly waiting to see what you create! Please post your pages in the Ad Challenge Gallery as well as the October Challenge Participation thread. Enjoy your scrapping!
