BRUSH IT UP CHALLENGE : WHAT’S UP WITH THE WEATHER?

Well hello again, It’s Carol here and I’m back for the March Brush it Up challenge : What’s up with the weather?  I’ve picked a really versatile brush pack that will encompass rain and shine, snow and heat, and all the crazy weather happening in the world.  It also has some fun ‘This Week’ word art which will be a perfect addition for those doing weekly pages.

We’re using Documenting Essentials No. 02 this month and Katie has generously offered a discount code DOCU50KPD for half price of the pack and you have until the end of the month to use it (31 March 2026).  To be part of the challenge you have to use something/anything from the Documenting Essentials No. 02 pack.  It contains both stamps and the .abr file use them any way you want, get inventive!

The creative team have eagerly jumped on board with some terrific example pages and I’m loving what they’ve done.

Firstly I’m showcasing Sharon’s page, what a dynamic page she has created, and whilst we have recorded record highs here where I live in Australia, it’s nothing like Sharon is copping it over west.   The reds and orange set the scene, and great use of the brushes with a slight shadow behind them giving the page depth.  I especially love the additions of those elements amongst the journalling.

Next up Guest CT member Penny has documented her daughter’s selfie on a cold and blustery morning heading to school.  Really like that she has matched the brush elements, again with a slight shadow, to the colour from the temperature app.  That’s the beauty of digi right?    Absolutely no doubt of the chill factor in this page.

And I love that Angela, another Guest CT member, has split the difference between hot and cold and made full use of the weather brushes.  Once again shadow work on the brush elements for the win, with the circle stickers as well.   Teamed with a fab colour scheme makes for an enjoyable page.

And lastly for my page I documented what ended up being a very rainy and thunderous fun run I recently took part in with my husband.  I just loved that little cloud and lightning bolt I took from one of the icons in the brush set, and used the brush items as stickers, taking the colour from both the sky poking through my photo of the clouds, and my husband’s hat, which worked well on the dark background.
