Template Mashup: This Lovely Life

Hello all! Mixing and matching, that’s what we do when we mash templates and it is a really fun way to design a scrapbook page. This is Merr (digigrandma) here with the first of our two monthly Template Mashup Challenges in March. You are invited to join in on the challenge and earn points counting towards a reward coupon to use in our store.

The templates are included in the Thrifty Thursday sale which is a great opportunity to add them to your digital stash. The only rule for this Challenge is to design a page using design parts from both of the featured templates. It is OK to add a couple of additional KPD elements or papers if you’d like, but please keep it to just KPD designs. When you’re done with your page, post it in the Template Mashup Challenge Gallery and also in the March Participation Thread in the forum to earn points towards a store discount for completing challenges.

Members of the Creative Team and I created the following examples to inspire you to join in the challenge.

First, Valerie’s (nana_vg) page is a vision of loveliness with photos of her granddaughter in her choices for dresses to wear to the prom. Note that she recolored the blue butterflies to match the red dresses. The background paper is from Palette Textures Paper Pack 07.

Second, Jana’s (Jana) page features two beautiful photos of a blue butterfly and the glorious colors she used perfectly enhance them. Her title is a fitting title! The page is indeed so lovely! Jana added some extras from Spectrum Gardenia Classics Paper Pack, Color Swatch Inkwell Transfers 01 and Spill Frame Layers 35.

Our Guest Creative Member, Penny’s (pennyh) creative spin on the challenge is this gorgeous page with a fun story about getting lost with her husband on a road trip. A paper from Canvas Color Mix Paper Pack 14 completes her design.

I decided to design a page around some black and white vintage photos of my mom as a young student nurse. I found plenty of embellishments from the two templates to complete my design. My background is a blend of  two papers from Dreamy Paper Pack 07 and Duncan Solids Paper Pack.

As you can see there are plenty of goodies in the two templates for creating something new and wonderful with your own photos. We look forward to see how you Mash!
