It’s All About That Base

It’s that time again — the Layer It On Challenge!  This month, we’re diving headfirst into all things layered and stacked. Start from the ground up with stacks of journaling papers, notes, and bits of texture—then keep piling it on! Think greenery, florals, frames, ribbons—anything and everything that makes your page pop.

The only rule for this challenge? Stacks on stacks on stacks! Pile on those journaling bits, layers, and textured goodies to your heart’s content. If you’re not sure where to start, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered! You’re sure to find the perfect pieces to help your layers fall right into place. Don’t forget your base —it’s the heart of your layout! Add a touch of brushwork, sprinkle in some texture, and blend in those warm tones that bring your story to life. Here we are all about layering without limits, so have fun and Layer It On!

Guest Creative Team Member Jheri (Jheri) knocked it out of the park with this stunning layout! She layered templates to create the perfect stacked backdrop for her photo, and the way everything comes together just draws you right in. It’s such a gorgeous example of how layering can make your pages pop!

I (myssp) I put together this layout using DocuStacks and Stacked Frames to achieve the stacked effect I wanted. By adding frames, florals, and tags—and tucking some florals between the layers—I was able to create the depth and dimension I envisioned.
