Then and Now: Summer Fun

Julie here with another Then and Now Challenge. September is in full swing. We have collected a new set of summer photos. So I thought it would be fun to compare what summer looked like “then” to “now.” Use your imagination and let’s see what you come up with. Katie had generously provided a freebie pack to get you started with some summertime word art and base paper.
Up first we have Valerie. She has created a fun page by combining elements from three different Layer Works and then adding a few extras. I love the background paper she chose and the water spots that look like bubbles. Here is what she used: Layer Works 562 (title and some elements), Layer Works 1927 (torn paper), Layer Works 2385 (frames), Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit 12, Curated Studio Mix 42, Ombre Essentials Paper Pack 02, Summer Words Brushes and Stamps, and Vintage Artistry Beached Solids Paper Pack.
Next we have Stacia with a page that she filled with pictures from summers past and present. Her page brings up memories of the activities with my own kids during our summers: beach, camp/camping, and parks! Stacia started with a template and added some colorful elements to spice up the page! She used: Filmed Memories Layered Template 10, Curated Studio Mix Scrapbooking Kit 12, Summer Stories Transfers, Cut Ups: Everyday 03 (recolored), and Kitlet Solids Paper Pack 06.
Finally we have the page I created for this challenge. I decided to compare backyard fun in the 80’s versus 2009. Anyone else have a Wham-O Fun Fountain growing up? Here is what I used to create my page: Freebies: Kitlet Solids Paper Pack 06, Title Lines Brushes and Stamps 08, Cut Ups: My Family Genealogy, Summer Stories Transfers, and other product: Vintage Photo Frames 24, Typewriter Clusters Brushes and Stamps 01, Stitched Journal Strips 03, Classic Cardstock: Little Layette (sun), and Drawn Bursts Overlays 01.
I hope you will join us for this summer fun challenge. Be sure to upload your all KPD pages to the Then and Now Challenge Gallery, and include the page in the September Challenge Participation Thread. Happy scrapping!
