August Sketch Challenge

Good morning everyone,

Sharon here, with a new sketch for you to work with this month.

This sketch encourages you to think of ways to use layered circles. The circles could be circles of paper, stitched circles, slide reels, doilies, peep holes cut to reveal paper underneath, or any number of circular elements found in the store! The sketch has space for three photos, and one of Katie’s ‘Around Word’ elements is enlarged and used as a title. You could layer paper or journaling spots and/or labels under your photos.

Three of our talented CT team have made example layouts to inspire you!

First up is Jen (jdipzinski), with this gorgeous page where she has used two photo frames to display one photo (I love this trick!). She has placed the title wordart on top of one of her stitched circles and I love the way the pieces of map paper are tucked under the stitching as well.

Jen has used:

Curated Team Fav Artsy Kit
Layer works 2375

as well as items from the freebie pack – but more about that later!!

Next we have this brilliant layout from Rachael (myssp), who has used an amazing combination of photo frames, a cutout paper circle and her usual wonderful mix of florals and elements.

She has used:

Color Swatch Inkwell Ephemera
Color Swatch Inkwell Filmstrips and Frames
Hinged Photo Frames 10
Classic Frame Layers 01
Spectrum | Gardenia Leaves Ephemera
Spectrum | Gardenia Botanical Ephemera
Sweet Rosey Element Pack

Textured Whites Paper Pack 03
Photo Grids 12×12 Layered Templates 07
Artsy Inked XOXO Brushes and Stamps 01
True Blue Paper Pack
Circling Sentiments Brushes and Stamps 01

Lastly we have Valerie’s lovely page about a special little man! She has filled circular photo frames with patterned paper as the basis for her photo cluster and her clever choice of florals and elements pulls colours from her photos and tells the story perfectly.

She also used items from the freebie as well as:

Thanks to these lovely ladies for their beautiful pages this month.

I do hope we’ve inspired you to create your own page using this sketch as your starting point. To further encourage you to play along this month, Katie has put together a lovely FREEBIE that includes some lovely items for your layering pleasure!

I hope we get to see your layout in the Sketch Challenge Gallery soon – and don’t forget to add your 100% KPD product page to the August Participation Thread to earn store rewards at the end of July!

Happy Scrapping!
