Then and Now Challenge: August

Welcome to the Then and Now Challenge. Sarah (sterkeurs) here, filling in for Julie this month! For us, summer is a time to spend with family and we are so fortunate to be able to have our family from the Netherlands come to our neck of the woods to stay at our family cabin for three weeks each summer. 

This summer, I got thinking about all the traditions that we try to keep up each year AND also how some of those traditions are changing (we now have GIRLFRIENDS who join in) as well as having to plan around kids’ work schedules.

A few Team members used this as a starting point to create pages about traditions! It could be summer traditions and how they have stayed the same or how they have changed. Katie has provided us with some awesome freebies for you to download and use on your page if you wish. 

Shannon (shannonr) did this page about their family tradition of flying! Fascinating to hear about all the places they have flown as a family!

One of our Guest CT members, Jen (jdipzinski) created this page of her son at their summer cabin in Big Bear Lake. Love the difference between the small kayak and the very grown-up SeaDoo!

And for me, I created a page that shows our kids and cousins back in 2016 at one of our favourite beaches in Point Roberts, Lighthouse Park, and again this year. We go to this beach frequently in the evenings to try to catch the whales going by in Active Pass. The kids are so much bigger this year and I thought it would be fun to recreate the photo. Unfortunately, we were missing one cousin who isn’t here this year and there is an additional cousin who was just a baby for the original photo!
