Template Mashup: Celebrations

This is Merrilee here with the first Template Mashup Challenge for the month of June! Whether June is the beginning of summer or the beginning of winter for you, I’m thinking we all have events, both big and small, plus every day moments, to celebrate on our scrapbook pages. Here are two templates which will make it easy to scrap celebrations! If you are a regular at mashing I hope the templates for the Challenge inspire you. If you’ve never tried this challenge before, I invite you to learn the fun and ease of mashing.
For this Challenge, please use embellishments from both templates to complete your page. (It is OK, if you add additional elements from your stash to complete your page and usually a background paper is needed.)
Please post your pages in the Template Mashup Gallery and if you are working on earning a Rewards Discount to use in the store at Katie Pertiet Designs, also, add your page to the June Participation Thread in the Forum.
Now, I have a visual treat for you! Members of the Creative Team, Stacia, Erin, Rachael, and Valerie, plus, our Guest Creative Team member, Renee, used the templates to create the following inspiration pages for you. I think you’ll agree they all did a super job of mashing the templates!
I’ll start with the three examples that feature the big and colorful CELEBRATE word art from Layer Works 1801 along with the cluster of photo frames from Layer Works 2040 for showcasing multiple photos.
Stacia’s page (aka Stacia) includes ample space for multiple photos plus a long journal text to tell the story of how a December birthday so close to Christmas is made extra special for the birthday boy in her family. Additional supplies used are: Little Dude Scrapbook Kit, Text Path Shapes 01, Color Swatch Ocean Paper Pack and Textured Whites Paper Pack 02.
Erin’s page (aka ErinR) also celebrates a birthday! The multiple photos show her daughter, Sophie, celebrating her 4th birthday. Erin placed the CELEBRATE word art horizontally across the center of the page. Notice the cool borders at the top and bottom of the page. Little Enamel BirthdayButtons and Plainly Woven Paper Pack 02 complete the page.
Renee’s page (aka 5grand), with photos from a birthday celebration, has yet another placement for the CELEBRATE word art and she placed the confetti like border brushes around all the edges of her page for an exciting look. I love the placement of the ribbon and and the little heart in the center, too.
Rachael’s page (aka myssp) also celebrates a birthday. I love that she used the wonderfully ornate purple photo frame, plus expert layering of elements from both templates. Spectrum Gardenia Painted Foundations Paper Pack completes her page.
Valerie’s page (aka nana_vg) is a show stopper with the profusion of flowers in the large photo and then the closeups of individual blooms reminding us to celebrate the beauty of nature and especially roses. Skimento Paper Pack completes the page.
I am very grateful to Stacia, Erin, Renee, Rachael and Valerie for sharing their creative ideas. Their wonderful examples prove to me once again that there are so many variations possible when we mash two templates.
Please join in and show us how you Mash! The templates will be included in the Thursday sale.
