Ad Challenge July 2024: Intersecting Circles

Hi everyone! It’s Amy (Amy L) bringing you the Ad Challenge for July. I thought this image might be a fun one:

I really like the intersecting circles and how the photos are arranged. If you search for “circles” in the store, there are tons of ideas. I love the Around Words brush series, all the stitched circles, the messy circles, and even slide reels could work for this design. At the end of this post, I have linked a freebie with a couple of circle options for you; one is a simple circle mask that may get you started! I put out this challenge to the Creative Team and this is what they came up with.

First, Shannon (shannonr) made this gorgeous page. The sunset photos on the water are just stunning. I love how Shannon interpreted the inspiration in such a beautiful way.

Supplies Shannon used: Spill Frame Layers 06 (freebie), Stitched Circles Clean and Messy: White 1 Value Pack (freebie), Summer Porch Bundle, Summer Porch Chipboard Bits, Summer Porch Wishing Bubbles, Summer Porch Postage Stamps, Summer Porch Botanical Transfers 02,  Beachy Clusters Brushes and Stamps 03, Simple Mini Mix 01.

Next up is Jana with another lovely interpretation using these fabulous photos from a boat tour of Chicago. I loved seeing these sights when I was there years ago, so her page brought back fun memories. The way the photos pop out from underneath allow for such interesting crops.

Supplies Jana used: Spill Frame Layers 06 (freebie), Stitched Circles Clean and Messy: White 1 Value Pack (freebie), Hello 2024 Stamp Pack (freebie), Summer Porch Paper Pack 02, Summer Porch Ephemera, Around Words Brushes and Stamps 08, Vintage Artistry Everywhere Epoxies, Vintage Artistry Everywhere Sentiment Transfers 02, Vintage Artistry Everywhere Chipboard Words, Cut Ups: Traveler 01.

Lynn (lynns54) created this amazing page with photos from Peggy’s Cove. We also traveled there and Lynn did a wonderful job documenting the beauty of the place. Aren’t these photos wonderful? I love how she used the scallop masks.

Supplies Lynn used: Fading Photo Masks 01, Layer Works No 1725, Maybe Tomorrow Add-On Paper Pack, Scallop Frame Masks No 2.

Finally, I kept it to a single photo page to document a trip my son’s family took recently to the Georgia Aquarium. I have to give the credit for this photo to my daughter-in-law who was able to get her children in silhouette while they gazed at the fish! The circles were placed in the background as a subtle accent to try to simulate the flowing water.

Supplies I used: Messy Painted Circles 02 Value Pack (freebie), Stitched Circles Clean and Messy: White 1 Value Pack (freebie), Canvas Color Mix Paper Pack 21, ARToptions Mini Mix 15, Fine Line Twists 02, Blendable Layers 71, Blendable Layers 90, Watery Fish Brushes and Stamps 01, Watery Brushes and Stamps 03, Ledger Journalers 07, Scribbled and Scripted Shapes Brushes and Stamps 03, Oceania Element Pack, Neptune Element Pack.

Katie has generously provided a freebie pack here which you can use if you wish (not required). I hope you find something in this piece to inspire you, and I’ll be eagerly waiting to see what you create! Please post your pages in the Ad Challenge Gallery as well as the July Challenge Participation thread. Enjoy your scrapping!
