Saturday Scraplift: Centered on Design

Sometimes smack-dab in the middle is just the thing, isn’t it? It certainly is if we’re talking about this beautiful page by Valerie (nana_vg). I love the symmetry combined with a few elements that break the bounds, and of course, you know the primarily purple color scheme caught my attention immediately. Julie, Erin, and Lori Ann, three of my Creative Team sisters, joined me in lifting Valerie’s page. Here’s where the inspiration took us.

Valerie’s page:

Julie (MaggieMae) adhered closely to Valerie’s page, even down to the color palette which was perfect for her stunning photo of lilacs. I love the texture of the torn edge and the dimension of the butterflies that give her design a tactile quality. And you certainly can’t go wrong with purple and green.

Erin (Ernie88) also stayed faithful to Valerie’s design – easy to do when it’s already a winner. To coordinate with the great fall photo of her and her husband, Erin used muted greens and browns, selecting a botanical patterned paper and using leaves and blossoms to frame her photo.

Lori Ann’s (lmaggs) wonderful graphic style really shines on her page which features photos of two adorable munchkins. She did a masterful job of layering beneath her main photo and of creating a gorgeous navy, tan, and teal color combination. I really love the separation in the main panel.

Once I saw Trace’s new curated rainbow kit, I couldn’t wait to try it out. Imagine my delight when the soft pinkish-purple paper was the exact shade of my grandson’s shirt – serendipity! I had fun breaking the bounds with some of the fun elements Trace included in the kit.

I know this terrific design is going to spark creativity in the gallery, so I’m eager to see how you adapt it. Remember to post your lift in the Saturday Scraplift Challenge Gallery as well as in the June Challenge Participation thread in the forum. Happy scrapping!
