2nd August Template Mashup Challenge

Hi all! This is Barbara (grantlaurensmom) here with the second Template Mashup Challenge of August. When I was looking through the vast array of templates at KPD to choose two for this challenge, I was immediately drawn to Layer Work 2355; I loved the swirls and the gradiants of colors in the leaves so I decided I’d have to choose it. Next, I came across Layer Works 2341 and was drawn to it’s different color gradiants as well. Both templates had such a happy feel that I wanted to put them out in the universe for you to use and see what you came up with!
Not to keep you waiting, I hope these two templates inspire you to document your memories! And as an added bonus… these pages will be marked down in case you don’t already have them in your stash!
next up is Layer Works 2341
So, now you know what we’re working with! If you’ve participated in a Template Mashup Challenge in the past, have at it. If this is your first time joining us, the rules are super simple: take parts from each of the two chosen templates (any and all parts that inspire you!) and use them to create a unique page that’s all your own. It’s not necessary, but if you’d like to, feel free to add a couple of additional KPD elements or papers of your choice, but please keep it to just designs from KPD. When you’re done with your page, post it in the Template Mashup Challenge Gallery as well as in the August 2026 Challenge Participation Sign-In Thread in the forum and you’ll earn points toward a store discount for completing monthly challenges.
To help get your creative juices flowing, several members of our creative team were inspired to play along with this challenge and created some lovely pages to share with you. Let’s take a look, shall we?!
First up is a page by Rachael (myssp). I love the way she matched the colors in her cute photo with the papers and elements. The pinks and oranges look so great. I also like the way she moved and recolored the “Loving Life” chipboard and centered it at the top of her page. Her page came together using just the two templates and papers from the Kitlet Solids Paper Pack 06.
Next up to inspire you is a page by Sherry (digi371). I love the way Sherry made it a fall-ish page with the leaf colors and those two happy-faced kiddos and their pumpkins photos. The paper from Chippy Foundations Paper Pack 15 that she used for her background paper is perfect.
Next up is another beautiful page; this one created by Rachel (rache77). I like how Rachel took the frame from the one template and also pulled out and highlighted the curly string elements to pull the viewer’s eyes to the group photo. She created her beautiful page using just the two templates and papers from Palette Textures Paper Pack 07.
And finally, I (grantlaurensmom) of course also wanted to share my take on these two templates. I pulled the frame and a few elements from the one template, did some recoloring, and voilà, my page came together quickly. To create my page I used the two challenge tempates as well as Arctic Whites Paper Pack 02 and a couple elements from Vintage Artistry Essentials Ephemera.
I hope the pages I’ve shared with you have inspired you! I want to thank my team members Rachael, Sherry, and Rachel for providing us with their beautiful example pages. Please join in on this challenge by creating your own page, using parts of both of the featured templates, and posting your pages in both the Template Mashup Challenge Gallery as well as the August 2026 Challenge Participation Sign-In Thread in the forum.
Thanks for looking and playing along, and we look forward to seeing your pages in the gallery!
Happy scrapping and happy almost fall!!
